Harvard Implicit Association Tests
The Implicit Association Test (IAT) from Harvard is a tool that helps uncover hidden biases we might not be aware of. By quickly sorting words and images, it shows if we lean towards certain attitudes about people’s race, gender, and more, even if we don’t realize it.
The Social Matrix Diagram visually shows our privilege and marginalization across different identities like race and income on a scale from “1” (privileged) to “7” (marginalized). Filled colors indicate levels of marginalization; less color suggests more privilege. It highlights the complex interplay of intersectionality, showing how various aspects of identity combine to shape our experiences.
